Hey everyone,
So today, everything was fine with my device, apart from the broken home button that has been broken for over a year now but the assistive touch was the outcome for that for me.
Keep pressing the Sleep/Wake button and Home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. For iPhone7/7 Plus: Keep long press Volume Down button and Sleep button until the screen gets back and restarts with the Apple logo. For iPhone 8/8 Plus/X/XS/XR and later.
However, earlier today the device was working fine, charging power at a windows xp machine. After it was done charging I took it off the cable like I always do, and the device was still working fine. So i turn the screen off (not the device, with screen off I mean click the power button once so the screen goes black. To get the slide to unlock screen click power button and slide to unlock, that kind of thing).
There is a way to unlock an iPhone running iOS 10 that has a broken home button and no access to Assistive Touch. Try the following: On your Lock Screen, swipe right. You should see the Search field at the top. Type Settings in the Search field. Your 'top hit' should be the Settings app. I did the factory reset on my iphone 5s, its got a broken home button. I am stuck at the hello screen, where it ask me to press the home button. Anyone got a work around. I can order a home button, but it will take a couple of days. A pple made a subtle change to the lock screen when it released iOS 10, the new operating system for iPhones and iPads that launched earlier this month. The “slide to unlock” prompt, which.
But to my surprise when I tried to use my ipod again it did not respond at all.
Once home I connected it to my computer, only to find out that the device can not be recognized.
Normally, I know, it should be fixable by putting the device in DFU mode, problem is, I can't do this because:
1. My home button is broken.
2. I can't force it to DFU with any software because my computer won't recognize the device.
So, the question pretty much is:
Now what? Do I wait for the battery to be drained and then try to charge it in the hopes it'll turn on? Anything else I can do?
